SilverCreator is a new game creation system from SilverNetworks. It features 500 cards, a robust sprite system with 256-color masks, a non-resource fork based file format, scripting based on 'events', and OSX compatibility (with PPC/System 7 version also available). This developer's release supports game compiling with separate runtime packages available on the website. SilverCreator is free, the upcoming SilverCreator Plus is $15 and boasts many improvements over the free version. Once you download SilverCreator, you must download a runtime package. A runtime package allows you to compile your games. The 68k package is recommended for compiling for classic. Use the OS X package to compile for Mac OS 10.1 or better. If you have a processor intensive game, get the PPC package for a speed boost. Once you've downloaded your runtime package(s), unstuff them and place the files inside of your SilverCreator folder. You can now compile your games. - The paint fill/flood tool now works! Hooray! WARNING: It does NOT work on my PowerMac 7300/180 (OS 9.1), but it works fine on my G4 iMac (OS 9.2.2). It also seems to work on a Beige G3 233MHz (OS 9.0.4). If you have an older pre-G3 Mac, please let me know if it works or not. - Script windows now have a little description line that shows the location or the name of the method or event. For methods, it also shows the full method line, for example 'MyNeatMethod(value1, value2, stringvalue$) as Integer'. - Fixed click areas being 5 pixels inaccurate when clicking on them, that is, even though the click area might be at 50, 50, a click at 53, 53 would be registered as a click at 48, 48 and the click area would not be activated. - SOCKLISTEN is now a string function. It returns the user's IP address so you can give it to the other player, for example, PRINT 'Your IP address is '+SOCKLISTEN$(ID, Port)+', please give it to the other player.' - Added 'Beginning Card' setting to new game window and game options window. The beginning card is the card that you see when you run the game (within SilverCreator or in a compiled game). - Fixed a nasty bug that would cause a click area in another card to execute if a click area was clicked in the first card and the click area in the second card was in the same area. - Fixed SETBUTTONCAPTION, SETBUTTONBOLD, SETBUTTONITALIC, and SETBUTTONUNDERLINE so that they work now (previously, they caused a NilObjectException). - Fixed a nasty bug that basically killed any function that used certain internal code. This included Nthfield, which is the command that helped me find this bug. - Fixed bug that caused a crash when running your game and it wasn't saved (how did I even let this bug slip through? It's so embarassing!) - Fixed 'Can't use two different types in IF THEN command.' error occuring when using an integer function that requires string values. - Fixed GOTOCARD scripting command not letting you go to the last two cards in the game (it gave you an Invalid Card error). - Fixed a bug that caused an incorrect 'Invalid number of parameters' error on all regular methods that accepted no values. - Fixed text paint tool giving the error 'currentcard.picture.graphics is nil. no text tool.' pretty much most of the time. - Fixed New Game event being fired when the game was quit, and Quit Game event being fired when New game was chosen. - Fixed flickering on Classic when switching between cards while playing game (forgot to remove old debugging code). - Using ' in a string now inserts a ' character. For example, using PRINT 'Blah 'Blah'' would print Blah 'Blah'. - In Run mode, the game window's title bar now has the card number in it. This does not happen in compiled games. - Fixed crash when opening a method from the Finder. Now it lets you import the method into your project. - Fixed bugs with plus signs used in string functions by rewriting much of the string handling code. - Fixed bug which caused all commands after a regular method being called to not be executed. - A recommended amount of memory is now automatically allocated to compiled applications. - Fixed another bug with certain keys not being properly passed to the KeyDown event. - Redesigned several windows to look more professional and less like GameMaker. - An error is now raised if you try to use an invalid integer or string function. - Fixed some graphical glitches that occured after choosing a custom fill color. - PUSHSPRITE was implemented in a v1.0 beta, but it was never documented! - Made the debug window a little wider to accomidate long error messages. - Added a true function that returns 1 and a false function that returns 0. - Fixed click-area delete sometimes deleting the wrong click-area. - Preferences menu item is now in Application menu on Mac OS X. - Added KILLSOCK command that kills a socket from memory. - Fixed undo not working correctly with the text paint tool. - Added documentation for sockets to the built-in help. - Added Select All support to all text fields. Classic and Mac OS X • Power Macintosh • Mac OS 7.5.3 or better or • Mac OS 10.1 or better SilverCreator (Classic) SilverCreator (OS X)

These pages discuss unfinished or development versions of games, which have somehow leaked out onto the internet over the years. These may be very early, or they may be nearly done. Either way, it's pretty neat to see what one of the classics looked like when it was still cooking.
Note that for the most part, these are NOT 'beta' versions! See the Guidelines for more information. Basnake mac os.
